Rockin Around the Christmas Tree was written by Johnny Marks and recorded by Brenda Lee in 1958. In December 1987, the cover version by Kim Wilde and Mel Smith reached number 3 on Boxing Day in the UK singles chart. The song was also on the album Snowed In by Hanson (1997). In the 2006 Christmas Day Parade, Miley Cyrus - the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus - sang an 'updated' version of the song.
